Down here in the south, the air's thick enough to swallow you whole, but the stares are sharper than any blade I've ever felt. They look at these scales, the way my breath hitches like a dyin' forge, and they see Iron Hold. They think I'm just another shadow driftin' down from that wretched mountain, carryin' the same rot in my blood. If only they knew. I hate that place with a fever that’d melt the very peaks they fear.
