"The Sundered Vessel"
Basic Information
Name: Kaelen Voss
Race: Human (Variant)
Class: Fighter
Role: Tank / Frontline Defender
Age: 23
Height: 5'9" (175 cm)
Build: Broad, muscular, built for endurance

Appearance
Kaelen has a soldier's body—thick arms, square shoulders, and a strong jaw. Her dark brown hair is usually pulled back in a practical knot. Pale grey eyes dominate her face, but their expression changes daily without her knowledge. A faint spiral scar marks her left forearm: the hag's curse-brand.

She wears chainmail over a padded tunic, carries a steel kite shield, and keeps her longsword always within reach. Four javelins ride across her back.

The Curse (The Fractured Self)
During a failed campaign, Kaelen crossed paths with a hag who, instead of killing her, placed a curse upon her soul. Now, every time she completes a long rest, her personality resets to one of twenty versions of herself.

Crucially, Kaelen does not know she is cursed.

She retains all memories—every face, every battle, every conversation. But each morning, she genuinely believes she has always been whoever she woke up as. When her friends say she's acting strangely, she gets confused or defensive. "This is just me," she insists. "I've always been like this."

Personality (Her Perspective)
"I don't know why everyone keeps staring at me like I've changed. I remember yesterday. I remember the hag. I remember every fight. I'm the same person I've always been. Aren't I?"

Kaelen believes she is consistent, reliable, and in control. She cannot perceive her own shifts. When confronted, she rationalizes: "I was just tired," or "You're the one acting strange." She carries a journal filled with notes from her other selves but reads them as if a friend wrote them—not her.

Background
Before the curse, Kaelen was a mercenary soldier—competent, quiet, and fiercely loyal. Her company was hired for a job that went wrong. A hag offered them a deal; Kaelen refused and attacked. The hag, amused, didn't kill her. She cursed her instead.

"You will live," the hag whispered, "but you will never know yourself."

Kaelen woke the next morning as The Wall and has never questioned why her friends look at her with such sad eyes.

Bonds & Goals
Bond: Her adventuring party is the only family she has. Even when she doesn't recognize their worry, she would die for them.

Goal: Find the hag and break whatever spell was cast—though she doesn't know she's cursed, so she can't articulate this. Something inside her just drives her westward.

Fear: Being alone. Being abandoned. Being seen as broken.

Quote
"I'm fine. I've always been fine. Why do you keep asking?"
